DETERMINATION OF900℃ISOTHERMAL SECTION OF Ni-Ti-Si SYSTEM

Abstract: A partial isothermal section of the Ni-Ti-Si system at 900℃was determined by means of diffusion triple technique, optical microscopy and electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) technique. Experimental results showed that there existed three ternary compounds TiNiSi22), Ti14Ni49Si373) and TiNiSi(E). Ternary compounds Ti53Ni37Si10(χ) and Ti2Ni3Si(λ), which were reported to occur at 750℃, were not found at 900℃. The solubilities of Ni in compounds TiSi2, TiSi and Ti5Si3 are more than 10% (mole fraction).
