Abstract: Welding residual stress of 2219 aluminum alloy flat with one groove is analyzed by ellipsoid heat source model. The result shows that the reasonable welding sequence can meliorate the distribution of residual stress and greatly decrease the peak value of welding residual stress if the converse welding method is adopted between adjacent layers in multi-layer weld or between adjacent beads in every layer. The numerical simulation results of the double V-groove thick plate welding model show that the welding sequence influences the value and distribution of the welding residual stress greatly. A more reasonable welding sequence is educed, and the reliability of the numerical simulation results is proved by the experimental results.
