EFFECTS OF TRACE Zr ON FATIGUE CRACK GROWTH RATE OF HIGH DAMPING Zn-Al ALLOY

Abstract: The fatigue crack growth rate of a high damping Zn-Al eutectoid alloy containing trace Zr and a Zn-Al eutectoid alloy has been measured. The Paris expression of both alloys has been obtained from the experimental results. The experimental results show that the lower fatigue crack growth rate of the alloy containing Zr is related to its higher internal friction value.
