Abstract: Oxygenated chloride leaching process was tested on a Telfer off-grade copper-gold bulk concentrate to justify the pretreatment of gold materials containing considerable copper sulfides. It has proven to be feasible for extracting copper under rather mild conditions and leaving pyrite intact. Nearly 98% of copper was leached by this process using 0.5 mol/L chloride at 85℃ and only 0.2g/L iron was transferred into the pregnant solution.
