REACTIONS OF PYRITE IN CATALYTICAL OXIDATION ACID LEACHING SYSTEM

Abstract: In H2SO4-HNO3-H2O-O2 system, the effects of solution composition, opreration factors and several additives on the reaction rate of pure pyrite have been studied in detail under the pressure condition. The results indicated that after leaching, the product percentage of oxidation residue is about 5 wt. -% and its composition mainly is α-S0 and H3Ofe3(SO4)2(OH)6. In the presence of  HNO3, the reaction rate increased by about 10 times.
