Abstract: With wavelet transform, a new inverse and imaging method is proposed to the seismic inverse problem for two and one-half dimensional (2. 5D) velocity variations. Copmaring with the reflection function method presented by Bleistein et al (1985) , proposed method has the advantages of that can be used to analyze and suppress the infection of the limited band width of observation in frequency.
Key words: inversion imaging wavelet
