Abstract: Coal beds rank among the weakest components of carboniferous rock massif in Upper Silesian coal basin. At present chemical grouting is being used in mining for reinforcing and stabilizing of rock strata. Due to low viscosity of a majority of chemical grouting means they are preferably applied for reinforcing of cracked rocks and coal seams. Reinforcing coal seams by means of chemical grouting, the properties and behaviour of coal seams grouted in this way are largely changed. This contribution deals with some laboratory results of grouted sample failure testing by which the effect of reinforcement grouting has been elucidated from the point of view of rock burst control.
Key words: chemical grouting; reinforcing; geocomposite material
