Abstract: The extrusion temperature is one of the key parameters for the lead-glass fiber (Pb-GF) composite wire manufactured by coating extrusion. The effect of temperature on coating extrusion of Pb-GF composite wire was studied by finite element numerical simulation with the DEFOEM simulation software. The simulation results show that the higher the extrusion temperature is, the lower the effective stress is, and the glass fiber bears the extrusion pressure of 813-317MPa. The extrusion force decreases with the increase of extrusion temperature. By extrusion experiments at different temperatures(25-315℃), it has been revealed that the increase of extrusion temperature enhances the coating speed limit, the glass fiber has to withstand the load during extrusion decreasing with the extrusion temperature increasing. The extrusion force decreases with the extrusion temperature increasing through both the simulation and the extrusion experiments.
