Abstract: The history of electrochemical flotation was reviewed. Potentiometry, voltammetry, rotating disk electrode and spectral electrochemical methods for electrochemical studies of sulfides and sulfide flotation were introduced. The methodology of electrochemical research was expatiated on. Some research of sulfides done by these methods was demonstrated. Their results give good inosculation to the flotation practice. The mixed potential concept leads to an understanding of collector action in terms of well established electrochemical principles. At last, the trend of flotation electrochemistry was predicted.
Key words: electrochemical flotation; sulfide mineral; spectral-electrochemistry
